WBA-MAD Player Ratings: Albion 1 Brentford 1

Last updated : 09 December 2018 By Wba-mad Editor

Albion shot themselves in the foot after they wasted a number of first half chances and fell to a late Brentford suckerpunch.

Harvey Barnes had finally given Albion the lead in the 77th minute but the Baggies again failed to keep a clean sheet when Lewis MacLeod equalised in the dying minutes.

Here's our ratings for the stars in stripes:

Sam Johnstone: Made an outstanding save when Albion were leading but couldn't do anything about Brentford's equaliser. 6/10

Tosin Adarabioyo: Solid display from the youngster who moved the ball well into midfield. 6/10

Craig Dawson: Was relatively unchallenged in Albion's defence but was crucuially caught under the ball for Brentford's equaliser. 6/10

Ahmed Hegazi: Another who could've played in his slippers but couldn't prevent the Bees from snatching a late leveller. 6/10

Kieran Gibbs: A vintage display from the former England left-back. Set up numerous chances for his team mates and must've wondered what more he could've done to grab an assist. 8/10

Matt Phillips: Looked like a man possessed first half when Brentford simply couldn't handle him. So unluckly to see his 25-yard effort cannon back off the bar. 7/10

James Morrison: Getting back to his best and he kept Albion ticking over in the first half. Faded badly after the break and couldn't prevent the cross going on which resulted in the visitor's goal. Needed to be subbed. 7/10

Jake Livermore: Bossed the midfield before the break as Albion swarmed over the Bees but lost his way after half-time. 6/10

Harvey Barnes: Always a threat for Albion and did well to react quickly to fire the Baggies into the lead. 7/10

Jay Rodriguez: Could easily have had four goals before half time but unfortnately left his shooting boots in the changing rooms. Missed chances ultimately cost Albion. 5/10

Hal Robson-Kanu: Another who needs to look in the mirror. Somehow failed to hit the target with his header when unmarked in the middle of the goal from six yards out. 5/10

SUBS

Dwight Gayle: Came on at half time for HRK but didn't enjoy the same chances as his team mates before the break. Struggled actually to get into the game. 6/10
