WBA-MAD Player Ratings: Albion 1 Norwich 1

Last updated : 13 January 2019 By Wba-mad Editor

Albion threw away the chance to move into the automatic promotion places after conceeding a late equaliser to Norwich.

Dwight Gayle had put Albion ahead before Jordan Rhodes equalised after stepping off the bench.

Here's who caught our eye:

Sam Johnstone: Maybe could've done better with the Norwich goal but made two fine saves either side of the break to keep Albion ahead. 7/10

Mason Holgate: Ah, so that's what it's like to have a proper right-back in the side. Was excellent before the break and his wicked cross set up Gayle's goal. A real threat throughout. 9/10

Craig Dawson: One crazy error in the second half almost gifted Norwich a goal. Pretty solid otherwise. 7/10

Ahmed Hegazi: A really commanding performance on his return from Albion. Wasn't afraid to bring the ball out of defence when required either. 7/10

Kieran Gibbs: Unlucky not to get a goal with a volley that just fizzed over. Pretty solid going in both directions. 7/10

Gareth Barry: Proving to be Albion's most influencial player. Kept the Baggies ticking over in midfield but had to tread a tightrope after a silly booking. 8/10

Chris Brunt: Moved the ball well and wasn't afraid to stick his foot in either when required. Set piece deliveries were not quite on the money though. 6/10

Rekeem Harper: Amazing to think he's only 18. Looked like he'd already played 100 times for the Baggies on his first league start. A very bright future ahead of him. 8/10

Dwight Gayle: A brilliant finish for Albion's first after his drifted in from the left. Wasn't afraid to track back either but seems a little wasted out wide. 7/10

Hal Robson-Kanu: Tested Krul with two fine efforts but too often drifted in and out of the game and lost possesion too often late on as Norwich pushed forward. 6/10

Jay Rodriguez: Ran around lots but didn't have any real impact on the game. Was very lucky to stay on the pitch with an extremely rash challenge in the second half. 6/10

SUBS

Bakary Sako: Came on after Norwich had scored. Should've been on the pitch some 15 minutes earlier. 5/10

Jonathan Leko: Another who warmed the bench for too long. Came on with seconds remaining and tried his best to ruffle some feathers. 5/10
