WBA-MAD Ratings: Albion 1 Wolves 1

Last updated : 04 May 2021 By Wba-mad Editor

Albion maintained the bragging rights over rivals Wolves after a 1-1 draw at The Hawthorns.

The draw extended Albion's unbeaten run at home against the Old Gold to almost a quarter of a century.

Here's who caught our eye:

Sam Johnstone – 7

Kept Albion in it during the first half when the Baggies were cut open. Had absolutely no chance with Wolves’ fluke goal.

Dara O’Shea – 6

Didn’t do too much wrong before being subbed as part of Allardyce’s tactical rejig.

Kyle Bartley – 6

Bounced back after last week’s error against Villa. Maybe should’ve been more aggressive in clearing the ball for the goal, but didn’t do much else wrong. One brilliant moment when he brushed aside a Wolves attacker leaving him in a heap.

Semi Ajayi – 5

Seemed to lack confidence throughout and was lucky not to be punished when he was caught trying to play out from the back.

Darnell Furlong – 6

Had a couple of half chances in the first half and defended well against the speedy Traore. Disappointing end product in the second half when he found some excellent positions.

Conor Townsend – 7 MOTM

Arguably Albion’s most consistent performer this season. Was defensively solid and put in a beauty of a cross for Diagne’s header.

Okay Yokuslu – 6

Worked hard enough and never backed out from a tackle. Seemed a bit leggy at times and struggled to dominate the midfield as he would’ve liked.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 6

Really struggled first half to get into the game. Had a slightly better second half but it was no surprise when he was subbed.

Conor Gallagher – 6

Lots of energy again as you’d expect but little quality either offensively or defensively. Was fortunate his missed sitter didn’t come back to cost Albion.

Matheus Pereira – 6

Couldn’t reproduce his performance against Villa as Albion struggled to feed the ball to him.

Mbaye Diange – 6

Looked isolated in the first half and seemed to struggle with the conditions when Albion needed him to bring others into the game. Brilliant movement for his headed goal.

SUBS

Matt Phillips – 7

Changed the game when he was brought on after half an hour. Was positive and direct after the break and should’ve had an assist when crossing for Gallagher.

Callum Robinson – 6

Didn’t have any impact in the last ten minutes.
