Aston Villa may consider themselves unlucky after they went 2-0 up against Liverpool, just to see the Anfield club come back and the game finish 2-2. Villa had dominated large periods of the first half in particular, with goals from Andreas Weimann and Christian Benteke giving them a deserved lead.

Villa’s early dominance is reflected in the fact that Liverpool’s Martin Skretl had to make 22 clearances in the game, the joint highest in the last round of fixtures.

Benteke looks like he is returning to form after scoring in successive games for Villa to take his tally in the Premier League this season to six, coming from 35 efforts on goal with 54% on target.

Weimann, meanwhile, has just two goals to his name, but four assists. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index also shows that he has made 208 passes in the opposition half, ranking him fifth in the Villa squad. Ashley Westwood leads the Villa team for passing with 410. Weimann is 5/2 to score any time with 888sport.com

New West Brom coach Pepe Mel saw his team take a point from their game against in form Everton in his first match in charge, thanks to Diego Lugano’s second half equaliser.

As well as scoring, Lugano also made 17 clearances in the last round of games, the third highest in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index, joint with fellow Baggies defender Jonas Olsson.

In addition to his excellent number of clearances, Diego Lugano also showed himself to be incredibly adept in the tackle against Everton as he won 83% of his challenges. Lugano’s tackling has actually been superb all season, as he has won 67% of the challenges that he has attempted.

James Morrison swung in the cross from which Lugano managed to power in his equalising header, and this assist was the cherry on top in what was an excellent all-round offensive display from the Scottish midfielder. The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index demonstrates that Morrison completed an impressive 46 passes in the opposition half against the Toffees, this was the most in the Baggies squad. He’s 5/1 with 888sport.com to turn goalscorer and score any time against Aston Villa.
