Werder Bremen fans wish Rosenberg well

Albion new signing Markus Rosenberg has been backed to be a success at West Bromwich Albion – by the fans of his former club.

Rosenberg signed this week on a free transfer after being released by German outfit Werder Bremen.

The 29-year-old Swedish international scored 40 times in 123 games for the German club and made 16 assists.

The former Ajax man was praised by his former fans for netting in the memorable 3-2 victory over Real Madrid back in 2007.

On the club’s official fans’ forum, a poster called ‘Lukcy’ said he was excited over Rosenberg’s move to the Baggies and hoped he re-sign for the club again in the future.

Another fan, ‘DKBS’, said his favour Markus Rosenberg memory was of the striker grabbing a 93rd minute goal to take the game into extra time – Bremen went on to win in 5-4 on aggregate.

Finally, ‘Allejo’ thanked the player Bremen fans called ‘Rosi’ for everything he had done.
