Former Albion and Wales International striker John Hartson has been diagnosed with testicular cancer which has spread to his brain.

The 34-year-old who retired from professional football after his spell with the Baggies is set to start chemotherapy therapy today.

The burly striker who also featured for Luton, Arsenal, West Ham, Wimbledon, Coventry, Celtic and Norwich on loan in an eventful career initially visited his local hospital complaining on blistering headaches.

In a short statement Hartson said: “If anyone can beat this, I can.”

All the best Big Man.
