The Boing Boing Poet honours one of Albion's favourite sons
The 6th January 2010
It became official on that day
So it seemed the perfect opportunity
To honour you in this way
Ten years is a long, long time
consistency is so hard to do
But throughout all that time
We could always rely on you
A quiet man about the place
until you laced up your boots
You let your football do the talking
With a most impressive left foot
You joined us in 2000
And helped to keep us alive
Then you were again on-hand
For the great escape of 2005
The Premier League beckoned
In 2002 and four and eight
Every time we stepped up a division
Clem you were just great
Three hundred games for the Baggies
A milestone for any player to reach
Now you can use all that experience
Imagine the skills and tricks you can teach
I wish you every possible success
I'm sure every Albionite does the same
A great player transferring to coaching
Neil Clement simply must stay in the game
