Albion appoint Moore

Darren Moore has been appointed West Bromwich Albion's new Head Coach. 

The former fans' favourite has been rewarded for his spell on charge of Albion towards the end of last season when he picked up 11 points from a possible 18. 

Moore was unable to prevent Albion from being relegated. But his spell in charge was one of the bright sparks during a dismall campaign for the Baggies. 

Albion have not disclosed the lengh of Moore's contract, however the club say he has agreed an "extended and improved" deal. 

The 44-year-old former defender, who played for the Throstles over 100 times, will now be tasked with guiding Albion back to the Premier League. 

"I am obviously extremely proud to accept this role and also extremely excited," said 'Big Dave', as he is effectionately known by Albion fans. 

“We have a big summer ahead of us, a lot of hard work we need to get in now. I’m going all out to try to get those plans and personnel in place to make sure we’ve got everything ready. 

“And we need to be because this is a tough league packed with great clubs. But what an opportunity for us to move the club in the right direction.”
