Midfield pair Youssouf Mulumbu and Juan Carlos Menseguez have both joined on loan until the end of the season - with a view to permanent transfers.

The pair join on the final day of the January transfer window after a drawn out saga relating to the Mulumbu deal and a last minute switch for Argentinean winger Menseguez.

Twenty-two year old Mulumbu joins from Paris St Germain after making 68 appearances for the French giants, including ten as a sub, scoring once, but has dropped behind Claude Makelele this season after the former Chelsea man's arrival.

Former Wolfsburg winger Menseguez joins from Argentine Primera Division champions, San Lorenzo, making 14 appearances this season. In total, the 24-year-old has made 136 career appearances, including 53 as a substitute, netting ten times.

The pair should be available for selection against Newcastle United if international clearance is received in time.
