West Brom sign Dutch defender Shelton Martis from Hibernian for £50,000. The 24-year-old centre back had spent just one season at Hibs since moving from Darlington.
"He's got huge potential which is why I want to give him the platform to perform," Baggies boss Tony Mowbray told the club website. "He's not the finished article but he could become a very good player for our football club." Martis was brought to Hibs by Mowbray in the summer of 2006 after one season at Darlington and scored three own goals in the first half of last season.
