All Baggies relishing Wolves battle

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is looking forward to a showdown with arch rivals Wolves after his side booked their place in the play-offs.A hat-trick from Kevin Phillips, a double from Nathan Ellington and goals from Robert Koren and Zoltan Gera sealed a 7-0 win - matching their best-ever league win which also came against Barnsley in 1990. Albion were home and dry by half-time when they were 4-0 up and Mowbray, whose side had collected just one point from their previous five home games, said:
"We have to stay very, very focused. I have been in three losing play-off teams at Ipswich and it is not a nice feeling when the second game finishes and that is the end of your season. So we have got to be fully aware that we have a cup tie to play over two legs and we have to be ready for it. But we have now built up some momentum to take into next weekend. We will know a lot about Wolves and they will know a lot about us so games like that can be cagey affairs and I am sure they will be pretty tight games. I have total respect for Wolves. They will go into it in a confident mood as well after their great result at Leicester. Mick McCarthy has done a fantastic job at Wolves and we know we have a very tough game on our hands. Over two games you would suggest the better team will come through. Let's hope it is two great games. It is a great prize to go to Wembley and then play in the biggest money game in world football."
Albion's early dominance paid off in the 21st minute when Paul McShane whipped in a low cross which Ellington steered towards goal before Phillips stabbed the ball home from six yards. Ellington got on to the scoresheet four minutes later when he scored from the spot after debutant Luke Potter had fouled Koren. Barnsley, who only threatened briefly when Dean Kiely saved smartly from Sam Togwell, were undone again by Ellington after 36 minutes when the former Wigan striker latched on to a long clearance from Kiely before drilling his low shot past David Lucas. Slovenian international midfielder Koren then scored his first goal for the club following his January arrival from Lillestrom with a neat flick to convert a 40th-minute cross from Jonathan Greening. Phillips helped himself to his second in the 54th minute after more good work from Ellington before completing his hat-trick after 71 minutes when he stabbed home a Gera centre. Gera scored himself four minutes later, making no mistake from 12 yards when he met a Sherjill MacDonald cross.
