West Brom's Tony Mowbray has beaten Gary Johnson, Alan Pardew and Adrian Boothroyd to be named Championship Manager of the Month for September.Mowbray's third-placed Baggies enjoyed a fantastic month, with four wins and a draw from their five league fixtures. This impressive unbeaten run, which began with a 2-0 home win over Barnsley and also included comprehensive victories over both Ipswich (4-0) and Queens Park Rangers (5-1), has seen the Baggies end September amongst the early pacesetters in the Championship. Also short-listed for the September award in the Championship were Johnson of Bristol City, Pardew of Charlton Athletic and Watford boss Boothroyd.

Chris Kamara, chairman of the Manager of the Month Awards panel, said: "It was a difficult summer for Tony Mowbray after losing several high-profile players to Premiership clubs, but he spent the money he received from these transfers wisely and made some astute signings to strengthen his squad. Tony is beginning to shape his own team now and the Baggies' results in September underlines the progress he is making."
