West Brom rounded off their pre-season programme with a goalless draw against Spanish side Real Sociedad. The Baggies fielded a strong side with new signings John Hartson, Chris Perry and Pascal Zuberbuehler all making their Hawthorns debuts. There were few chances early on but Zoltan Gera went close for West Brom with a header from Jonathan Greening's corner before half-time. Real Sociedad worried the Baggies a little before half time by striking the cross bar from a set peice and then again from open play. A scuffle in the second half got a few of the visiting players a bit hot headed but all was back to normal after the refs interception. Darren Carter came on and tested the Real keeper with a verocious shot but the visitors held on.
