Baggies receive Phillips boost

West Brom have been handed a major boost with the news that Kevin Phillips' ankle injury is not as serious as first feared.The veteran striker has missed his side's last two games with the injury. Phillips underwent scans on the injury and they have revealed that the problem is not too serious, with the former Sunderland and Southampton hitman now expected to return to training next week. However, Baggies boss Tony Mowbray is sweating over the fitness of Carl Hoefkens after the defender was forced to pull out of Belgium's squad for their forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers with a shoulder injury.
