"It would have suited me to move to Albion because I still have my home in the Midlands from my time with Forest," he said.
"But it was Ipswich who came in for me when my career was static and I wasn't going to forget that. I want to repay the faith they showed in me.
"My three months on loan here convinced me Ipswich can go up. My contract runs out in the summer but if I can help them to win promotion everything will take care of itself."
Bart-Williams signed a season long permanent deal with The Tractor Boys at the end of last week.
