Confident Cox checks in

Simon Cox has told how he plans to bring a “swagger” to Albion’s play next season after speaking to the media for the first time since joining the Baggies.

The former Swindon man signed a two-year deal, plus a further two-year’s option in the club’s favour, at The Hawthorns yesterday and revealed his uber-confident nature on and off the pitch.

“I am a very confident person and people will get to know that,” the Berkshire born hitman said.

“Hopefully when I step out onto the pitch I will ooze confidence. I have a bit of a swagger about me and I’ve got the arrogance to get on the ball and make us play and score some goals.

“There is a bit of momentum but also a bit of pressure. I enjoy that pressure because it means I’ve done well in the previous season.

"I’ve come here to enjoy it and try to prove myself at this level. I was talking to someone who said the Championship is a little bit harder and every goal you score is worth half for each league you go up.

“But if that’s the case it’s fine because I’ll get 15 goals this year.

“I’m not under pressure from the manager or anybody but I put pressure on myself to do well and I always will.”
