West Brom new boy Leon Barnett admits his former team-mate Curtis Davies played a major role in convincing him to move to The Hawthorns.Barnett became Tony Mowbray's fourth signing of the summer on Thursday as he completed his £2.5 million move from Luton. The 6ft 2in centre-back put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal and admitted his former Hatters team-mate Davies persuaded him to make the move to the Midlands.

Barnett told the club's official website: "I've played with Curtis before and that's a big reason why i came to West Brom. He said that when he first came here the boys were good with him and that's what I need - encouragement to reach higher. West Brom is a good club to come to in the Championship and I don't see why we can't get into the Premiership next year."
