West Brom manager Tony Mowbray has told out-of-favour striker Nathan Ellington he can still have a future at The Hawthorns.Ellington has found himself behind Kevin Phillips, Craig Beattie, and on-loan Ishmael Miller in the strikeforce pecking order with Mowbray having also gone public on plans to sign yet more goalscorers.

Mowbray said: "Strikers are brought in to create competition and hopefully that will help Nathan raise his game and score goals. I am not questioning his ability to score goals because his record suggests he can. He scored a couple for the reserves this week though and that is his job - to keep himself in the forefront of my mind for team selection. By scoring for the reserves he has not done himself any damage."
