Watford have signed striker Nathan Ellington from Championship rivals West Brom for a fee believed to be in the region of £3.5 million. The 26-year-old had been looking for a move from the Hawthorns and was close to rejoining former club Wigan during the January transfer window, only for the deal to fall through, but it became clear that Ellington would be granted his wish to move on when the Baggies sealed the signature of Polish striker Bartosz Slusarski last week.
The former Bristol Rovers marksman started just 34 league games for West Brom since his move from Wigan in 2005 but still managed to net 15 times. Ellington arrives at Vicarage Road having penned a four-year deal and will help fire Watford towards their goal of immediate promotion back into the Premier League.
