Jonny Evans has refused to throw in the towl - despite Albion moving eight points from safety after their 1-0 defeat to Watford.

The former Manchester United man admitted it was a frustrating afternoon at Vicarage Road after watching his teammates miss a number of chances.

"It's difficult to take," said Evans.

"At half time we were pretty pleased with certain aspects of our performance. I really felt like we could go out and win the game in the second half. But once they got the goal we found it difficult. They defended well to keep the clean sheet.

"The most important thing for us is that we still believe. We're working hard. You could see that today. The fans were receptive to that and it gave us a lift. They appreciated the work rate we put in today. We thank them for travelling."
