Foster out for three months

Ben Foster could miss up to 12 weeks of football after suffering a stress fracture in his right foot against Everton.

The Albion No.1 was forced off in the 77th minute after feeling a sharp pain in his foot whilst walking around his area.

The keeper, who was being watched by England manager Roy Hodgson, will hopefully be fit for selection at start of December but miss his country’s crucial qualifying games ahead of next year’s world cup.

The injury is a big blow to the Baggies but now gives Wales international Boaz Myhill and Luke Daniels the opportunity to impress in Foster’s absence.

“There’s no hiding the fact this is disappointing news as Ben is a key player for us. He was excellent on Saturday before his injury forced him off,” said Steve Clarke.

“In the meantime, I’ve got two other very good goalkeepers to choose from.

“Boaz did well when he deputised for Ben last season and Luke showed on Saturday he is a more than capable goalkeeper.”
