Gera's gratitude to goalscorers

Zoltan Gera thanked 'Bostin' Cesar and Roman Bednar for saving his blushes after the fans' favourite early error lead to Burnley taking the lead in just the fourth minute of yesterday's win.

The Hungarian international held his hands up for allowing Burnley's David Unsworth to head down to James O'Connor to punish the Baggies for poor defending just minutes into the match. However, goals from the Slovenian and Czech internationals secured the points much to the delight of 'Zolly'.

"It was a frustrating start because we conceded from a set-play again," Gera said.

"I tried to block Unsworth but he was too strong for me.

"Their goal was my fault.

"But we controlled the game in the first half and Bostjan's goal was important to make it 1-1 at half-time.

"In the second half we had the chances and Roman scored another very important goal.

"Roman doesn't just score goals - he scores very important goals.

"He works very hard for the team and hopefully he can keep scoring.

"We had other chances and Roko was unlucky with the penalty.

"I'm very happy we saw it out and won 2-1."
