Simon Hunt today left his position at the club due to family reasons. After joining in June 2007 from Southampton and assisting in the addition of a number of players in the pre-season, the two parties have parted company.

Dan Ashworth, Albion's current Academy Director, has been seconded to the role in a dramatic rise within the club. After initially starting as assistant to current Watford boss, and former Centre of Excellence Manager, Aidy Boothroyd, and excelling in his current position Ashworth's efforts have been rewarded with his new role.

After overseeing the transition from Centre of Excellence to Academy status at the start of the 2005/2006 season, the youngsters have enjoyed two seasons of relative success finishing ninth and fifth in the FA Premier League (North-West Division).
