"It's quite a serious injury which can be very dangerous if you ignore it and with a goalkeeper throwing himself around the risk is even greater," Pearson told the club's official website.
"It is frustrating for him, and I'm aware he's keen to put this tag behind him of being injury prone, but they have been serious injuries.
"We're disappointed for him because we know how keen he is to make a career for himself as a regular goalkeeper."
