Tony Mowbray has revealed that Korean international Kim Do-Heon chose to stay and play at The Emirates Stadium instead of heading back to his homeland to see his newborn son. In an amazing show of commitment to the Baggies, the midfield star has delayed his 14-hour flight back to the Far East instead putting in an impressive show during Saturday's defeat.

The first chance that Kim will have to see 'Kim Do-Heon Jnr' will be next month as the skilful midfielder returns home on international duty with nothing but praise and admiration from Albion boss, Tony Mowbray.

"Kim has done exceptionally well," said the Albion chief.

"He has got a new addition to the family and he hasn't seen the child yet.

"He is showing a great dedication to his career and loyalty to the team by being here.

"I know if my wife had given birth I would have been asking the manager to leave, even if it was just for a day, to be with my family.

"But he is getting on with his job and is doing really well.

"We have got an international break coming up with some qualifiers to play so hopefully he will be visiting them soon."

After impressing at The Emirates and during pre-season Mowbray has revealed he's yet to find the best position for the versatile midfielder.

"We asked Kim to play in three or four different roles in pre-season and maybe we are still searching for his very best role to benefit the team," Mowbray continued.

"But he works hard, is good technically and will threaten the goal, as we saw on Saturday in the first half.

"I'm sure he will be fine as we go along.

"He is a good international footballer and we are trying to bring in players with that sort of experience because every day in the Premier League is an event and is slightly different.

"We have to be ready for the big occasion.

"Invariably, international footballers have played in big occasions when expectation is huge and they have to be able to deal with it.

"Kim will have played in many a game when expectations are high."
