Manager Bryan Robson has left Championship outfit West Brom by "mutual consent" with chairman Jeremy Peace insisting "a change is necessary".Some fans called for the head of the former England captain after Saturday's disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Southend left Albion ninth in the Championship table, and five points adrift of second-placed Birmingham. Peace told the club's official website: "After much deliberation, and in view of the results since early 2006, it has been decided a change is necessary if the club is to achieve its aims for this season and beyond. "This is a very important time for West Brom. With promotion a priority, the board felt that given the club's current league position, the best way forward was to agree to make a change now." Robson has won only 19 of 81 games during is spell in charge at The Hawthorns and the club are now looking for their seventh manager in 10 years. Nigel Pearson will assume temporary control of first-team affairs
