Dutch defender Shelton Martis has revealed he was glad to quit Hibernian after his relationship with manager John Collins became strained.Martis was presented as a West Brom player by former Hibs boss Tony Mowbray on Wednesday. Mowbray left Easter Road in October and Martis was keen to join him at the Hawthorns after learning of West Brom's interest.
The 24-year-old has joined the Baggies on a two-year contract for a £50,000 fee, and Martis said: "I did not play as well as I could last season but I was ready to fight hard for my place this time around, I was determined to work hard and play much better, but the gaffer at Hibernian was not giving me the confidence I needed and I was starting to get the feeling it was not going to work out."
