Megson applauds players

"The players deserve great credit today, they gave it everything," Megson said after the 0-0 draw at Ewood Park.

"The players have been making the right noises about playing for pride and after our worst performance of the season last week they have worked their socks off, I couldn't ask any more.

"It was a great goal by Jason Koumas, ghosting past people and then a good shot. He has fantastic quality and really is a talented, two-footed player. He's as good on his left as his right.

"He just needs to wake up and smell the roses about what the game is about. He's got to accept there are two sides to it.

"In terms of quality you won't see a better midfield player for passing, running and shooting with either foot, but he has got to play all the time like he did in the second half today."
