Miller fighting fit

New fitness coach Dan Harris seems to be working his magic on the Albion squad with hot-shot Ishmael Miller declaring he's in the best shape of his life. The former Manchester City forward was far from match fit this time last year suffering from cramp in a number of matches at the beginning of last season. However, Miller now hopes his peak fitness will push him ahead of Luke Moore and Roman Bednar for a starting berth at Arsenal with Tony Mowbray hinting at a 4-5-1 formation.

"The game on Saturday was really about fitness. I just want to get fit and make sure I am 110 per cent fit when we get to August 16," Miller said after scoring against Ipswich Town.

"I want to make sure I am ready to rock n' roll when the season starts. As a striker it's nice to get goals whether it is a friendly or not.

"I am really just concentrating on trying to get my fitness to a level it needs to be at. I feel great now. I'm probably the fittest I've ever been in pre-season.

"In fairness to Dan Harris at first I thought he was a very hard and difficult man but now I feel fitter and I feel good."
