Luke Moore will go straight into the Baggies squad for tomorrow's game (KO 3pm) against Hull after completing a loan deal until the end of the season. The 22-year-old striker today completed his switch from Aston Villa with a view to a permanent deal worth £3 million pound, which could rise up to £3.5 million pound.

The new signing will wear the No. 24 shirt and will compete for a starting berth against the likes of Kevin Phillips, Ishmael Miller, Roman Bednar, Craig Beattie, Bartosz Slusarski and Sherjill MacDonald for a starting berth.

"Luke brings quality and hunger," Mowbray said.

"He's more in the Kevin Phillips mould than those of Ishmael, Roman or Craig.

"He'll bring a bit more balance to the striking options.

"He scores goals and his scoring record is good in the Premier League.

"As a young player, hopefully he's one for the future as well as one for today.

"I just want to put him in an environment where he can flourish.

"He understands where we are and the quality of footballers we've got in the position he plays.

"He's happy enough to come on board and compete for a place in the team."

The youngster already has invaluable Premiership experience and four England Under-21 international caps, the most recent against the Republic of Ireland earlier this month.
