James Morrison has signed a new one-year contract at the club after proving his fitness during Albion's pre-season campaign.

The long-serving midfielder's contract expired at the end of June, but he was invited to continue training at the club by new Baggies head coach Darren Moore.

Mozza spent the summer at Albion's training ground working his way back from an Achiles injury and featured a number of times during the Baggies' warm up games.

Now he has penned a new 12-month deal, with an option for a further year and has immediately set his sights on promotion.

"It feels great, it's been a long time coming, and a lot of hard work has gone into it," said the Scotland international.

"I'm glad I'm still here and I'm really looking forward to getting back on the pitch as we try to get back to the Premier League.

"It was difficult to watch from the sidelines last year and that's driven me on to get back and help us get back to the Premier League.

"I can't wait to get back playing with my mates in front of an amazing crowd."
