Mowbray: Albion got just desserts

West Brom manager Tony Mowbray heaped praise on his side as they bounced back from a painful home defeat with a 2-1 victory at Norwich. The Baggies responded superbly after going behind against the run of play on 58 minutes when Norwich's Dickson Etuhu headed home his second goal in successive games. The visitors had dominated up until then without finding the back of the net but they struck back in the final quarter with an athletic volley from defender Sam Sodje bringing them level and a stooping header Diomansy Kamara giving them all three points in injury time. The result was a perfect response to Saturday's 3-1 home defeat at the hands of fellow promotion hopefuls Stoke but Mowbray revealed afterwards he had never doubted his side would bounce back. He said "This is a results-driven business, I know that, but I spent a lot of time analysing that defeat and I think there are a lot more positives than negatives to take out of it. You never like losing, but I wasn't too concerned after that because I knew the performance had been a good one. We've continued in the same fashion today and got our just desserts. I thought it was another one-sided affair and we fully deserved to win. I was delighted with the way we went about our business and even if we had ended up losing the game 1-0, I would have still said the same thing. I thought we saw the makings of a decent team here today. If we keep trying like that for the rest of the season we'll win plenty more games. Fair play to Norwich, they played their part in the game and I don't think anyone could deny we were the better side. Everyone played their part all across the pitch. Dean Kiely didn't have much to do but he made an excellent save for us right at the death to keep it at 2-1. That's what he's there for. Mowbray was delighted for the two goal scorers. Diomansy hasn't scored for a little while and was due a goal so hopefully that will do him the world of good. He was willing to go on the bench the other day when he wasn't feeling at all well and he wasn't 100% today but he was determined to go out there from the start. That's the sort of spirit we've got here. For a central defender Sam has got a tremendous amount of ability on the ball. When you see him in training you'd think he was a centre forward.
