West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has assured striker John Hartson he still has a part to play as the Baggies push for promotion. The form of Kevin Phillips and Diomansy Kamara as well as Hartson being sidelined through injury, suspension and sickness have given the summer signing from Celtic few opportunities at The Hawthorns and Mowbray has confirmed he might be willing to release the Welshman on loan.
Albion chief, whose side lie third in the Championship table, said: "John has been a victim of circumstances over the last two or three weeks. "I have had a conversation with John about him being suspended and then ill but the team won both games during his latest absence. Phillips and Kamara would not have taken too kindly to being left out after scoring goals. John has shown he has got a worth and I am sure he has still got a part to play in what is hopefully going to be a successful season for us."
