Mowbray given suspended ban

Tony Mowbray today received a £3,000 fine and a three-match suspended touchline ban after admitting a charge of improper conduct and using abusive and insulting words towards match official Nigel Miller following the 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

Mowbray was outraged that a suspected foul had been missed during the build-up to the Wednesday equaliser deep into injury-time and he, along with his coaching staff, approached referee Miller after he blew the final whistle.

Taking into account Mowbray's exemplary track record, the disciplinary committee presented the Baggies boss with a suspended punishment until the end of next season.  Any similar charge before then will result in a ban and a fine for the former Hibs boss.
