Mowbray hails Robinson decision

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray admits the fact that key defender Paul Robinson can face arch rivals Wolves on Sunday is "great news".Tenacious left-back Robinson will be available for the Championship derby at Wolves after having his appeal over his red card against Sunderland upheld by the Football Association. Robinson was facing a two-game ban after he was sent off for the second time this season for a professional foul against the Black Cats. Referee Dermot Gallagher felt that Robinson had deliberately halted Sunderland midfielder Liam Miller - but Albion were confident video evidence would clear the left-back.
Mowbray said: "It is great news. It is very clear what happened when you see the re-runs of the incident. We were fortunate enough to have three or four different camera angles of what went wrong. There is no contact by Paul or very minimal contact. That's why the club decided it had a very good case to appeal. In my opinion it was rightly upheld and I'm delighted. It's great news that we've got him available for the derby game. We didn't want to miss a player of his ability for two matches if we could help it. "
Robinson's other red card this year came against Birmingham when Damien Johnson ended up with a fractured jaw.
Mowbray said: "Paul's other sending off this year had a bit of controversy around it but I work with him every day and there is no malice in him. He is just trying to do his job and get on with his job. He is an excellent professional."
