Mowbray satisfied with Albion start

Tony Mowbray has given Albion's start to the Premiership season the thumbs up with the Baggies currently sitting pretty in 11th place after victories over West Ham, Middlesbrough and Fulham.

Albion's impressive start is by no means least the best of the three promoted teams with Saturday's opponents, Hull City, taking the Premier League by storm and occupying third spot in the division. Although last season's runners-up, Stoke City, are in the relegation zone, the Baggies boss is pleased the three newcomers have enjoyed relative success so far.

"It's pleasing for a lot of people the three teams that came up are doing okay and are not sitting 18th, 19th and 20th," Mowbray said.

"It's not all gloom and doom.

"That might be the case at the end of the season - and then everyone will be vindicated in their predictions.

"But, at the moment, we're all doing okay.

"Hull are doing the best of the three promoted teams but all three are competing.

"I don't make judgements after eight games.

"Manchester United were sitting on 11 points after seven games - and no-one's judging them.

"I would judge how teams' seasons are going to pan out after another eight or nine games.

"Let's see where everyone is sitting after they've played one another.

"Then you get a clearer picture of how the season is going and how teams are set up in this division."
