New signing Abdoulaye Meite has revealed it was the 'Tony Mowbray factor' which made his mind up over a transfer to The Hawthorns. Fellow new boys Hull City were also interested in securing the services of the 27-year-old defender, however the Ivory Coast international opted to join the Baggies after being impressed with the Albion manager and his thoughts.

"I'm happy to be here and I will do my best for West Bromwich Albion Football Club," Meite said after moving under somewhat of a cloud from The Reebok Stadium.

"I spoke with the manager and he is a good manager. His mind is good. He is the reason I am at West Brom.

"When I spoke to him he explained to me his style and I like it. It's a big club and I think we can stay in the Premier League and achieve more."
