Mozza signs new deal

James Morrison has committed his future to Albion after agreeing an improved deal.

The 29-year-old was out of contract at the end of June and was widely expected to end his nine year stay at The Hawthorns.

Morrison himself raised questions over his future after admitting earlier this year that he hadn't been offered a new deal by club officials.

The Scotland international was widely expected to rejoin Middlesbrough on a Bosman contract but early negoitations stalled.

The fans' favourite has now penned a new two-year deal, plus a year in the club's favour, to extend his stay at the Baggies beyond a decade - and is likely to see him join Albion's '300' club.

Morrison, who missed the last three months of the season with a hamstring injury, has made 278 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals.

"It was inevitable that James would consider his options at the end of his contract but we're delighted that he has decided to sign back up with Albion," said Head Coach Tony Pulis.

"He will be keen to prove his worth this season and we are sure he has a big contribution to make."
