Nicholson spell pleases Mowbray

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray believes Albion striker Stuart Nicholson is benefiting from the experience of his loan spell at Bristol Rovers. The 19-year-old joined the League Two side on an initial month-long loan in November but will now remain at the Memorial Stadium until mid-February after the two clubs agreed to extend the deal last week.
Mowbray said: "At the moment he's still young and this is a good opportunity for him to compete for regular first-team football. "They seem keen on him down there in Bristol and hopefully he will soon start to score a few more goals because playing and scoring at that level, as opposed to doing it in reserve team football, does no harm to your confidence and development. "Hopefully when he comes back to West Brom he will have improved and be ready to stake a claim for our first team."
