Colchester have revealed they will not be offering a contract to on-trial West Brom midfielder Rob Davies. The Wales Under-21 international has played two games for the Us' reserves, scoring a superb free-kick in his second appearance, but assistant boss Mick Harford feels the player is not quite ready to step straight into the first team.
"He did well in a couple of games, and he wants to be a footballer and is really positive, so that's a good thing. He's a good lad and was good around the club but it's probably a bit early for him at the moment. When we bring players in we have to get players who will be pushing to get into the first team and we feel Rob isn't quite ready for that yet." said Harford.
