Former Swedish Under-21 defender Jonas Olsson is on his way to The Hawthorns for a medical after Albion agreed a £1.7 million pound deal with NEC Nijmegen. The Dutch club have reported on their official website that the 25-year old is heading to the Black Country to complete the deal before Monday's transfer window closes.

*Michal Danek's spell at The Hawthorns has today ended with the Czech goalkeeper heading home after the club terminated his extended loan spell. The 25-year-old returns to Viktoria Plzen after failing to make a single appearance for the Baggies. Danek initially joined in January as back up for Dean Kiely and extended his stay in the summer. However the arrival of England international Scott Carson pushed the Czech down the pecking order.

*Jared Hodgkiss has also joined SLP outfit Aberdeen on a season's long loan with David Worral heading to Accrington Stanley for a month.
