West Brom defender Paul McShane has insisted he will do all he can to get himself fit for Saturday's derby with Coventry. The Irish international had only just broken into the first team but he limped off in the 1-1 draw with Barnsley after suffering a groin strain. With Neil Clement and Chris Perry back in contention, McShane knows he has his work cut out to stay in the side.
He told the club's official website: "I don't want to lose my place now and, touch wood, I'll be okay."
McShane has been pleased with the Baggies' recent form and he is looking forward to extending that run in the weeks and months ahead.
He added: "We have to keep knuckling down and try to perform as best we can. Hopefully we can push on and try and stay unbeaten for the rest of the season."
