Resilient Albion pleases Pulis

Baggies boss Tony Pulis again praised the character of his players after Albion’s 1-0 win against Everton.

The Baggies were faced with large periods of pressure against the hosts but hung on for an unlikely victory after Salomon Rondon bundled in Jonas Olsson’s header.

Ben Foster could only watch as the hosts twice hit the post but remained largely untested after a resolute rear-guard action.

“In the game itself we were resilient," said Pulis.

We had to defend for our lives, but we have to remember Everton had a free midweek after a great result at Stoke.

“To go to Everton and get a result was fantastic, especially after 120 minutes and penalties against Peterborough.”
