Robson was expected to move for Stranzl in the summer but instead opted to sign Luton Town defender Curtis Davies. But with the Baggies having the worst defensive record in the Premiership the former Middlesbrough and Bradford City manager is keen to add to his backline. Robson was at Old Trafford on Saturday to watch the player in action for Austria against England and is now considering a £2.5million move for the stopper in January. The West Brom chief will continue to assess Stranzl before determining whether he is capable of doing a job in the Premiership, but having lost five out of their last six matches the boss is keen to strengthen. Stranzl joined Stuttgart in 2004 from 1860 Munich and is a regular in the Bundesliga.
