The Baggies keeper was in awesome form against The Reds which went a long way in keeping his side in the game at Anfield.

"Kuszczak has done very well since he came in and that's why he's keeping Chris Kirkland out of the side," Robson said after the 1-0 defeat.

"It's terrific to have two great young goalkeepers here but I just wish they weren't as busy as they have been.

"That is the most Tomasz has had to do since he came in and you could say he had the game of his life.

On the game Robson commented: "I thought we battled hard and the way it was panning out I thought the changes I made up front could have just nicked us something.

"We did well because last season if we had gone 1-0 down it could have ended up as three or four.

"We did all right at the back but the problem we had was that we didn't retain possession and that's always going to put pressure on your defenders. We have to work on that. Our ball retention was poor.
