Albion captain Jonathan Greening praised his team-mates after their victory at Norwich left the Baggies within a point of automatic promotion. The Baggies were quick out of the blocks at Carrow Road opening the scoring after just 90-seconds as Albion hunted down the points needed for a return to the Premiership. Zoltan Gera doubled the visitors' advantage in the second-half before Albion were pegged back by a dubious penalty minutes later.

"It was a great three points for us today," the former Manchester United and Middlesbrough man said.

"We knew it was going to be a battle.

"We played well in the first 20 minutes.

"We were 1-0 up and got a bit nervous because there was pressure on us to get a result.

"That showed a little bit.

"Eventually we got the second goal and then the referee and his assistant made things hard for us.

"The ref was five yards away from the incident and didn't see it yet his assistant was 50 yards away and did see something.

"A few things didn't go our way today but the lads showed good character and determination to see it through.

"All the boys are delighted to get the three points.

"It's been a hectic last few months and today was my 52nd game of the season.

"All the boys have done really well.

"The quality in the squad has been important."
