Sodje: We've got to finish the job

On-loan defender Sam Sodje has no intention of suffering a third play-off disappointment after helping West Brom book a Wembley date. The 27-year-old was a member of the Brentford side beaten by Sheffield Wednesday at the semi-final stage in the 2005 League One play-offs. And 12 months later, Sodje and the Bees were defeated at the same stage by Swansea. But now the Nigerian has a chance to erase the frustration after Albion beat Black Country neighbours Wolves 1-0 in a Championship semi-final second leg encounter at The Hawthorns. Kevin Phillips scored the only goal of the game - the 22nd of his season and Albion's 100th of 2006-07 in all competitions - to give the Baggies a 4-2 aggregate victory and set up a showdown with Derby at the national stadium on Monday, May 28. Sodje, on loan at West Brom from Reading, said: "We are going to Wembley and that is great but it is not finished yet, we want to win. We just need to be professional down there and do our job at the back because going forward we are a frightening side, we are unbelievable. So if we keep it tight at the back, once we create a chance it will be taken. " said to the lads in the dressing room before last night's game. "I had not come to West Brom to lose in the play-offs. I have experienced that twice before with Brentford and this year I am here to win at Wembley. I am looking forward to going to Wembley but I do not want to lose there, it is all about being on the winning side and only then can the party start. Reaching Wembley is not the end of road - we have to go there and win but I feel I am in the right squad alongside big-game players."
