Striker John Hartson wants West Brom stay

Veteran goal-getter Hartson, 32, struggled to make an impact in the Championship last season despite the Baggies' run to the play-off final, which they lost to Derby County. The former West Ham and Celtic player hit five goals in 21 appearances, although they included seven from the substitutes' bench. Diomansy Kamara struck 20 in 34, Kevin Phillips 16 in 36 and Nathan Ellington 10 in 34 (15 as a substitute). Hartson was also behind midfielder Jason Koumas (9) and level with Zoltan Gera in the charts.
His agent Johnathan Barnett said: "John is happy at West Brom and there have been no discussions with any other clubs regarding a transfer so far. It was a tough season for him last year, but he is under contract at what is a great club and is happy to stay there to fight for his place."
Jet-heeled Kamara recently left for Wigan Athletic and so Hartson perhaps believes that he can regain a regular place in the starting line-up. Former club Luton Town, Hull City, Sheffield United and their city rivals Wednesday have all been linked with a move for Hartson.
