Mowbray said: "We have lost a touch of flair and technical ability with Jason Koumas leaving, but Filipe will add a technicality to our game. When we were looking to replace Koumas, who had made it clear he wanted to leave, Filipe came to the forefront. You can play him anywhere really - behind the strikers or daring in from the left - and I believe the fans will enjoy his technical ability and quick feet. I would not want to compare him to Koumas because he is a completely different player but he will add the same sort of qualities to our team, excite the fans and, on his day, score some wonderful goals."
