Wallwork on road to recovery

Former Barnsley midfielder Ronnie Wallwork is well on the road to a full recovery after turning out again for West Brom's reserves.The 29-year-old, victim of a multiple stabbing in a Manchester nightclub last November in the middle of his loan spell at Oakwell, played another 90 minutes in the Baggies' 3-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. Wallwork arrived for an initial month at Barnsley on November 23 and started in successive home wins against Ipswich and Southend. The former Manchester United trainee spent just over a week in hospital after suffering stab wounds to his hand, stomach and back in the attack. A 20-year-old man, charged with attempted murder, is currently awaiting trial.
